Troubleshooting

Choose what you notice. These are the issues covered by your appliance guide.

Steam stops or a full tank is reported empty

Possible causes

The tank is not fully seated
Fill and fit the water tank
Filtered or demineralised water affects detection

Use suitable fresh cold water. If filtered or demineralised water causes this, the manual allows mixing it 1:1 with still mineral water; check the hardness setting too.

Set the water hardness
The tank was dropped and now leaks

Order a replacement tank; impacts may have loosened internal parts.

The warning persists despite correct tank seating and water

Contact Siemens service; the level sensor may be faulty.

The oven asks to descale or rinse

Possible causes

The descaling reminder is active
Descale the oven
Descaling is requested before the use counter appears

What to check

A hardness setting that is too low can cause this.

Descale the oven
Set the water hardness
Power or operation was interrupted during descaling
Finish interrupted descaling
Steam, flashing buttons or pump noises appear

Possible causes

There is a lot of steam during initial calibration

Heavy steam during automatic calibration can be normal. Do not interrupt the calibration by opening the door.

Very heavy steam repeatedly occurs after short cooking

The oven may not have completed calibration. In menu > Settings, reset Factory settings, save, then repeat first startup and calibration.

Calibrate and clean the oven
Steam leaves the ventilation slots or pump/panel sounds occur

Vent steam, popping around frozen food, pump humming during or after use, and panel-opening clicks can be normal. Buttons can flash while condensation behind the panel evaporates.

The oven does not start or heat

Possible causes

The oven has no power

Check whether other kitchen appliances have power and whether the oven circuit breaker is in order. Contact service if it remains unresponsive.

The display says the cavity is too hot

Allow the cavity to cool, then start the selected function again.

A display instruction interrupts operation

Read and follow the displayed instruction. Open and close the door once after a power cut so the appliance can check itself. If operation still will not start, contact Siemens service.

The display says demonstration mode is on

Briefly switch the oven's circuit breaker off and on, then disable demonstration mode in menu > Settings within three minutes. Save the setting.

An error code appears

Possible causes

A message beginning with D or E appears

Switch the oven off and on once. If the message returns, contact Siemens service and give the exact displayed code.

The control panel does not open

Possible causes

The panel does not respond

Check the oven's power supply and circuit breaker. If it still will not open, contact Siemens service.

If water remains in the tank, ask Siemens for help emptying it safely. Do not force the panel.

A lamp, door or internal glass needs attention

Possible causes

The cavity light or its glass cover is faulty

Contact Siemens service. Do not remove the lamp cover.

Glass is damaged or soil is trapped inside the door

Keep cleaning to accessible glass, the seal in place and the condensate trough. Ask Siemens for help with pane or door disassembly; do not use the oven with damaged glass or a damaged seal.

The oven stops after a long cooking time

Possible causes

The maximum operating time has been reached

The oven stops heating automatically after a long time with unchanged settings. Switch off, switch on and set the required function again. Set a cooking duration for long cooking.

Care guides

Finish interrupted descaling

When the oven asks you to rinse

  1. 1

    Resume the rinse sequence

Switch the oven on if needed and follow its rinse prompt. Open the panel, remove the tank, thoroughly rinse it, refill with water and refit. Close the panel and press start/stop.

  2. 2

    Complete the second rinse

When prompted again, repeat the tank rinse, refill, refit and start/stop sequence. Wait for the second rinse to end.

  3. 3

    Finish tank care

Empty and dry the tank and lid seal; let it dry with its lid open, refit it and switch off.

What you need

  • Soft cloth

Keep in mind

  • Other oven functions stay blocked until both rinses are complete. Do not try to bypass the rinse sequence.
