Troubleshooting

Choose what you notice. These are the issues covered by your appliance guide.

The programme will not start

Possible causes

Power may be unavailable

What to check

Is the display off?

Check the plug and whether other household lights or appliances work. A dark display with flashing Start can be energy-saving mode; press a button to wake it.

The door or start control needs attention

What to check

Is the door fully closed with no laundry trapped?

Close the door and press Start. Check whether Finish in (labelled “Klaar in”) is delaying the start.

Child lock is active

What to check

Is the key symbol shown?

With the machine on, hold both buttons marked with the key and “3 sec.” together for about 3 seconds. Keep the selector on the original programme to avoid cancelling it.

Problem persists

What to check

The listed checks do not explain or resolve the problem.

If these checks do not resolve the problem, contact Bosch with the E-Nr., FD number and any error code. Contact support

Water does not drain

E:30 / -80

Possible causes

The drain hose may be obstructed

What to check

Check the visible hose for a kink or trapped section.

Free an accessible kink without disconnecting the hose. If the drain is blocked or installation is wrong, ask Bosch or your installer; the drain connection must be no higher than 1 metre.

The pump may be blocked

What to check

Drainage fails or the pump rattles.

Clean the drain pump
Too much detergent may be contributing

What to check

Is there excessive foam?

Use less detergent for the next equivalent load. If drainage still fails, contact Bosch.

Water does not enter

E:30 / -10

Possible causes

Water supply may be restricted

What to check

Check that the tap is open and the inlet hose is not kinked or trapped.

Open the tap and free an accessible kink. A blocked inlet strainer or low water pressure needs further checking; ask Bosch for the correct next step.

The error may trigger automatic draining

What to check

The machine starts draining with this error.

Wait about 5 minutes for draining to finish, then switch the machine off and on. If the code returns, contact Bosch.

Problem persists

What to check

The listed checks do not explain or resolve the problem.

If these checks do not resolve the problem, contact Bosch with the E-Nr., FD number and any error code. Contact support

The door stays locked

Possible causes

The wash is still too hot

What to check

The programme used a high temperature.

Wait for the temperature to fall. To cancel, press Start; if heat keeps the door locked, run Rinse (labelled “Spoelen”) and wait for the door to unlock.

The water level is too high

What to check

Water remains in the machine.

Drain the wash water
A power interruption prevents opening

What to check

The door will not unlock after a power interruption.

Ask Bosch for help. Do not force the door or operate the emergency release while water is visible behind the glass. Contact support

Water leaks from the machine

E:35 / -10

Before you begin

  • Close the tap for E:35 / -10 or an unexplained leak. Do not keep running a leaking machine.

Possible causes

Water may be in the base tray

What to check

E:35 / -10 is displayed.

Close the tap and contact Bosch. Do not attempt an internal repair. Contact support

Dirt may affect the door seal

What to check

Water comes from below the door and the sealing surfaces are dirty.

Clean the door and seal
A hose or connection may leak

What to check

Water comes from an inlet or drain hose.

Close the tap and have the hose and its connection checked. Damaged hoses require replacement. Contact support

If these checks do not resolve the problem, contact Bosch with the E-Nr., FD number and any error code. Contact support

Odour or drawer residue builds up

Possible causes

Moisture and detergent residue encourage odours

What to check

The empty machine smells.

Clean the drum
Dry the seal and air the machine
The drawer insert may be blocked

What to check

Water remains in the softener compartment.

Clean the detergent drawer
The selected programme may not allow softener

What to check

Softener remains after a wash.

Check whether the selected programme allows fabric softener before using it.

The machine vibrates or laundry stays wet

H:32

Possible causes

The load may be uneven

What to check

H:32 appears or spinning stops.

When the drum has stopped and the door is unlocked, redistribute the laundry. Mix large and small items, then select Spin/Drain with a suitable spin speed and press Start.

Installation may cause strong vibration

What to check

The machine moves or is unusually loud during spinning.

Have the levelling, foot locknuts and removal of transport bolts checked against the installation manual before continuing. Contact support

Spin settings may leave more moisture

What to check

A low spin speed or the anti-crease option (labelled “Antikreuk”) is selected.

For the next wash, choose a suitable programme and higher spin speed if the fabric label allows it.

Problem persists

What to check

The listed checks do not explain or resolve the problem.

If these checks do not resolve the problem, contact Bosch with the E-Nr., FD number and any error code. Contact support

Check whether the behaviour is normal

Possible causes

Remaining time changes

What to check

The duration changes during a wash or spinning restarts.

Load balancing and foam control can adjust the cycle or add rinsing. These changes alone do not indicate a fault.

Water is not visible

What to check

The machine otherwise runs normally.

The water level may be below the visible part of the drum. Do not add extra water during operation. Initial load sensing can take up to 2 minutes before filling.

Water or pumping makes noise

What to check

You hear water hissing into the drawer or rhythmic suction during draining.

These are normal operating sounds. Rattling from the pump is different; check the drainage help.

Problem persists

What to check

The listed checks do not explain or resolve the problem.

If these checks do not resolve the problem, contact Bosch with the E-Nr., FD number and any error code. Contact support
