Before using or caring for your washer
A few essentials before using or caring for your Miele WEB375 WPS.
Have the washer correctly installed and connected, with its transport bars removed before use. Do not use a damaged machine. Use an earthed socket without an extension lead or multi-socket adapter.
Before hands-on cleaning, maintenance or clearing a fault, switch off and disconnect the electrical supply; switching off alone does not isolate it. Reconnect when finished if you are going to run a wash programme.
Do not spray the washer with a water jet. Keep solvent-based cleaners, abrasives, glass cleaners and all-purpose cleaners away from it. Use detergent suitable for domestic washing machines, following its dose instructions.
Keep children supervised around the washer and cleaning products. Children must not clean or maintain it without supervision.
Remove protective film and advertising stickers, but leave labels inside the door, including the rating plate. Take the drain-hose elbow out of the drum, then run the first-use calibration guide.
Before the first wash
Do this once after installation, before the first load. An already calibrated washer does not need this repeated.
Check that the washer is correctly installed and the transport bars have been removed. Leave the drum empty and add no detergent. Open the water tap.
Turn the selector to Cottons (Katoen). The default 60°C temperature and 1400 rpm speed light up. Touch Start/Add laundry (Start/Trommel bijvullen) and let the programme finish.
Turn the selector to Off to unlock the door. If anti-crease has already finished, it unlocks automatically. Leave the door ajar so the drum can dry.
Monthly
Monthly, or sooner: When the hygiene reminder appears
Miele recommends monthly cleaning when low-temperature programmes or liquid detergent are used regularly. Clean sooner if the information light and a 1 appear together.
Select Cottons (Katoen) at 90°C. Use Miele washing-machine cleaner or a universal powder detergent, following its instructions.
Touch Start/Add laundry (Start/Trommel bijvullen) and let the programme finish.
Every 6 months
Every 6 months, or sooner: After frequent water supply interruptions
Check the strainer about every six months, more often if the water supply is frequently interrupted.
Close the water tap and unscrew the inlet hose from it.
Pull the rubber sealing ring out of its groove. With combination or pointed pliers, grip the raised centre edge of the plastic strainer and pull it out. Clean the strainer.
Put the strainer back, then the rubber seal. Screw the hose coupling firmly onto the tap and open the tap. Check that no water leaks from the coupling; tighten it if needed.
After each wash
A quick check keeps forgotten items and moisture from sitting in the washer.
Turn the selector to Off and open the unlocked door. Remove all laundry and check the door seal for foreign objects.
If you used a CapDosing capsule, remove and discard it. A little water left in the used capsule is normal.
Leave the door and detergent drawer slightly open to dry.
When detergent or starch builds up
Clean away detergent deposits, poor softener drainage or repeated liquid-starch buildup. Give the siphon extra attention after using liquid starch several times.
Pull the drawer out until it stops, press its release button and remove it. Wash it with warm water.
Pull the siphon out of the fabric-softener compartment. Clean it and the tube underneath under warm running water, then refit it on the tube. Clean the softener channel with warm water and a small brush.
Use a bottle brush to remove detergent residue and limescale from the water jets in the drawer recess. Put the drawer back and leave it slightly open to dry.
When the surfaces need cleaning
Use gentle products on the cabinet and controls.
Use a damp cloth with a mild cleaner or soapy solution, then dry with a soft cloth.
For deposits on the stainless-steel drum, use a cleaner suitable for stainless steel.
If descaling becomes necessary
Correct detergent dosing normally makes descaling unnecessary. There is no routine descaling schedule.
Choose a special washing-machine descaler based on natural citric acid; Miele recommends its own descaler. Follow the descaler's instructions exactly.
Before a long absence
Reduce the risk of a leak while you are away, especially where there is no floor drain.
Close the washer's water tap before a long absence, such as a holiday.
